Commissioned by St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Champaign, Illinois, to create a unique crucifix to be mounted on the curved east wall inside the church. Selected as the result of a competition between three artists. Completed and installed on schedule on April 13, 1987. The sculpture includes an 11 1/2 foot high laminated maple cross, bronze inscription plaque, and life size bronze "Corpus".
