	1988 One of five finalists and recipient of $1000 award in a competition to create an over life size bronze figure of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., for the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Exhibition of the work of the five finalists was at the Kalamazoo Arts Center, Kalamazoo, Michigan, July 15 through August 1, 1988. A 1/2 size bronze maquette and an over life size bust of Dr. King were exhibited.
